Bois Brule Camp
What is it about the North Woods that sharpens the senses? Is it the spruce forest cut by fishing paths? The grouse that wander across your trail? Is it the cold drizzle and overcast that portends solid fishing in a cold river with a cobbly bottom and churning holes? Is it the tiredness that rewards? No, not without camaraderie. It is the group that convenes to share the challenge and the success that fully participates in the annual pilgrimage of fish and friends. There is no place that more exemplifies this union, in both character and history, than Wisconsin's Bois Brule River.
What's to expect?
One Full day with the best guides servicing the Brule, Fly by Night Guide Service LLC.
Cold, drizzly weather if we are lucky. Otherwise, just cold. Snow is very possible.
2-4 miles of walking every day. The terrain is steep and the paths are a slick clay mud. The river is accommodating, but to be negotiated wisely.
On the water by sunrise. Sacrificing in the AM (usually by temperance the night before) and a grab-and-go breakfast will be rewarded by better fishing at the best spots and then a hot field lunch midday.
Evenings of hearty, top-shelf chow by the campfire, while your gear and maybe yourself dries out by the wood stove in our outfitted 18’x20’ canvas wall tent.
A group fishing experience where by sharing observation and anecdotes, and all braving the same elements we succeed and struggle collectively.
